Start saving more from each check
I remember the days when I was far less conscious about my spending; I would waste money on items that neither pleased me nor improved my quality of life. Worse, I knew that it was a mistake not to save but ended up clearing out my bank account anyway.
A few years ago, I decided to become more cognizant of my financial habits and began to place a higher percentage of my earnings into my savings each month. Thus far, my quality of life has improved immensely—in other words, put more into savings rather than into your checking account, and only splurge when you’re sure that you can afford it!
Connect with the right people and network more
To feel truly successful, it is integral to surround yourself with people who have built an admirable life for themselves. This means that you may need to cut off people who are dragging you down. Of course, it’s tough to distance yourself from those you enjoy spending time with, but sometimes it’s necessary—you don’t need or want toxic energy in your life.
The vast majority of business ventures require not only connections, but the proper mentality, and being around the right people can place you in the best possible mindset for success. Try networking in any way you can, whether it be online or out and about. And remember it’s not all about business. Feel free to have some fun and forge genuine connections!
Break your bad habits
Everyone wants to break bad habits but doing so is a lot easier said than done. In fact, it is simple to lose sight of your goal once it becomes seemingly too overwhelming to achieve.
One of the most useful things I’ve learned is not to bite off more than you can chew. It’s easy to become overenthusiastic and stretch yourself thin; so, choose around three habits to work on breaking and do your utmost to focus on them rather than getting distracted by others.
Whether we like it or not, habits shape our reality, and working yourself out of the ones that have defined you for years can be tough but putting forth the effort to change your lifestyle repay you handsomely over time.
Feel your best with a better diet
It is indisputable that eating right will make you feel amazing. You can be the richest, most successful investor in the world, but if you don’t follow a healthy, balanced diet, you will feel as sluggish and out-of-shape as your body!
Personally speaking, I had a good diet, but sweets were my kryptonite—I loved big bowls of ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, and peanut butter brownies. I knew that I had to change something and substituted some of the unhealthier snacks for fruit and yogurt. I also started to eat a lot more protein and fiber and tried more reliable superfoods, like fish.
Look the part to feel the part
Looking the part is as much a component of feeling successful as working hard is. If you think about it, in fact, most people’s first impression of you is based on the way you look, whether it be your outfit, the car you drive, or your choice of accessories.
One major issue that stifled my sense of confidence was my ungracefully aging appearance. It made me wonder: what was the point of driving a BMW, wearing a Rolex, and owning a gorgeous suit if people were more focused on my wrinkly, saggy skin than anything else?
The good news is that I found a solution: I visited a surgeon and got a facelift. I feel a lot more successful now, and people constantly tell me that I look much younger than I really am. The results are well worth the price!
If this is something that interests you, I say go for it—you only have one life to live, and you might as well fight Father Time, especially because solutions are so easily accessible these days!
